 A service for anxious riders on the NYC subway

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Travel Buddy is a startup app to help anxious riders of the NYC subway system, the MTA, get to their destination with peace of mind. Today, there is a higher crime rate as portrayed by the media, which creates an uncomfortable atmosphere within riders. Travel Buddy hopes to ease the discomfort within riders with its designated "buddy system."

PROBLEM

Tattoo artists and enthusiasts need a better way to connect with each other. One platform for all of them is helpful since it can show the types of tattoos an artist is comfortable working on, and the types clients are looking for.

Other apps aren’t geared towards artists and don’t do a good job with connecting them with prospective clients.

GOALS

  • Get customers connected to artists digitally

  • Connect customers with artists who can do the style they are looking for

  • Foster a digital tattoo art community

  • Connect apprentices to owners to help them find a shop to get started/an artists who works in their style

NEXT STEPS

  • Understand the userbase further with more in-depth interviews with around 10 more people

  • Complete a mobile version of Travel buddy as it's only a web-based app created for a class project

  • User test designs with 10 more people

  • Review results from user testing and iterate to improve the feature offerings
